Procedures and Criteria for Applicant to be Followed for the Adoption of
Indonesian Children
- Prospective adopters first must be approved by the state or
Territory adoption authority. The Sayap Ibu Foundation is the
agency approved by the Department of Social Affairs on Social
Welfare to make arrangements and give assistance for adoption by
foreigners.
- Criteria for Prospective Adopters
The Sayap Ibu Foundation gives preference to people meeting the
following requirements:
- Age limits: 25-45 years(Husband 45 years, wife 40 years
at the maximum)
- Married for at least 5 years
- Residency and permanent occupation in Indonesia for a
minimum of 2 years with a permit issued by the local regent
and from the concerned Embassy/ Consulate in Jakarta
Indonesia
- Childless couples, or those who already have a child or
have adopted an Indonesia child. If a child from another
country has been adopted previously, they would not agree to
an Indonesia child being adopted into the family
- Belief in God
- Both parents must appear in court
- Documents Required
Court requires the following document from applicants, and these
will be forwarded by the State Adoption Authority to Sayap Ibu
Foundation:

- Letter of approval for adopting and Indonesian child
from the concerned Embassy/Consulate in Indonesia
- Marriage Certificate + KBRI + Stamp from Embassy of
Indonesia
- Birth Certificate + KBRI + Stamp from Embassy of
Indonesia
- Birth Certificate of the previous child +KBRI + Stamp
from Embassy of Indonesia
- References of the close relatives from both side
Those documents(2 to 5) must be authenticated by the Embassy
of te Country of extraction in Jakarta and the Indonesian
Embassy/Consulate of the concerned country of origin.

- Health statement by Medical practitioner in
Indonesia from Governments hospital for husband and wife
(original copy)
- Statement from a Gynecologist regarding involuntary
childlessness in Indonesia from governments (original
copy)
- Original income statement and should be acknowledge by
the embassy of the origin country
- Good conduct statement from the Police Resort for
husband and wife (original copy)
- 3(three) pieces of photos(4x3cm)
- Statements from the adoptive parents that they will
contact the Indonesian Embassy at the future areas of
residence (signed above a seal of Rp.6000) and should be
acknowledge by the Embassy of the origin country
- Statement of the motivation for adopting an Indonesian
child (signed above a seal of Rp.6000) and should be
acknowledge by the Embassy of the origin country
- Statement of domicile from the concerned Embassy
in Jakarta and from the local regent (RT/RW/Lurah/Camat)
- Copy of the Passport and KIMS/KITAS
- A letter is required from the concerned Embassy in
Jakarta stating that the child will be allowed to enter the
country after the adoption in granted, and that under
adoption legislation an adopted child becomes a child of the
adopters as if he/she had been born to them in marriage.
- Translation
All foreign languan documents must be translated by a sworn
translator in Indonesia, which will be executed by Yayasan Sayap
Ibu. On assistance adoption's payment.
- Cost
The Administration fee is very reasonable and all payment should
be done to our account No. 228-300301-9 in BCA(Bank Central
Asia) in Rupiah or directly to our cashier.
